Through the esteemed columns of your widely circulated daily, I would like to draw the attention of the government and the general public to the remarkable benefits of the smart boards recently installed in our school classrooms as a part of the digital-access initiative in school education.

First, smart boards make teaching and learning far more interactive and engaging. Teachers can present lessons with videos, animations, diagrams and live web content, which helps students grasp abstract and difficult concepts quickly. Visual and audio support keeps learners attentive and turns passive listening into active participation.

Secondly, smart boards save valuable classroom time. Lessons can be prepared, stored and reused, and notes can be shared digitally, so teachers spend less time writing on the board and more time interacting with students. This improves the overall efficiency of the teaching-learning process.

Thirdly, this technology promotes digital literacy. Students become familiar with modern tools from an early age, narrowing the digital divide between urban and rural schools and preparing them for a technology-driven future.

Finally, the benefits extend beyond the classroom. Better learning outcomes raise the quality of education, strengthen public schools, build community trust in government schooling, and ultimately produce skilled and competent citizens who can contribute to national development.

Hotel Everest Crown to Suspend Banquet Service for One Week from 25 May 2024

Kathmandu, 24 May 2024 — Hotel Everest Crown, a leading five-star hotel in Kathmandu, today announced that it will be temporarily unable to provide its Banquet Service to guests for a period of one week, from 25 May to 31 May 2024.

The management informs all its valued clients, partners and the general public that the suspension has become necessary due to scheduled major renovation and upgrading of the banquet hall, including the installation of modern facilities, electrical and safety systems. The work is being carried out to ensure greater comfort, safety and a superior experience for our guests.

During this period, all other services of the hotel — including accommodation, restaurants, conference rooms and other amenities — will continue to operate as usual without any disruption.

The hotel sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused to clients who had planned events during this week. Guests with prior bookings are kindly requested to contact the hotel's reservation desk for rescheduling or alternative arrangements. Normal banquet operations will resume from 1 June 2024.
